Vectorworks, Inc., has released Vectorworks 2027, an update to its design software portfolio. The release includes changes to performance, visualization, data-driven graphics, content management and information exchange. Vectorworks 2027 is available for Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Design Suite, Fundamentals, ConnectCAD and Braceworks.
Visualization and rendering updates
Vectorworks 2027 includes updated texture resources based on a physically based rendering (PBR) system and a redesigned Edit Texture dialog with live previews. Direct GPU support through Vulkan and Metal is intended to improve navigation and display performance when working with 3D models.
The AI Visualizer is also available to subscription customers and integrates Google’s Nano Banana AI models into Vectorworks. The update supports higher-resolution images, scene analysis and up to 14 image references.
Content and community resources
Vectorworks 2027 adds The Exchange, an in-app hub and palette where users can find, submit and share design resources from the user community and industry partners.
The release also expands support for Revit Families and DXF/DWG Dynamic Blocks, allowing content to be imported as dynamic objects. This can reduce the need to recreate and manually clean up assets while helping teams maintain consistent project information.
Georeferencing without specialized GIS software
Vectorworks 2027 includes tools for aligning models with real-world coordinates. The Geolocation Setup Wizard can align surveys, point clouds, GIS layers and location imagery around a common survey point.
Subscription customers can also use new Google Maps imagery within the geolocation workflow.
Workflow updates for entertainment design
Vectorworks 2027 includes updates for lighting, rigging and audio design workflows. Schematic View enhancements allow users to configure data tags, label legends and dimensions from a single dialog. These settings can be saved as reusable sets to support consistent documentation across projects.
Updated cable connectivity tools support the development of power and data plans for entertainment applications.
Vectorworks Spotlight 2027 adds the Audio Listening Plane, which allows designers to define listening planes and exchange them with compatible audio analysis tools through MVR. Imported sound coverage results can then be displayed in Vectorworks.
