Siemens updates Simcenter Testlab for automated testing workflows

Enhancements cover structural dynamics, NVH prediction, AI-ready data preparation and virtual shaker testing for physical test planning.

Siemens has announced updates to Simcenter Testlab software for testing, data management and engineering analysis. The updates combine testing workflows, automation and data management functions across structural dynamics, system noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) prediction, AI-ready data preparation and shock and vibration test preparation.

The updates are designed to reduce manual work, support consistent test procedures and provide engineering data earlier in the development process.

Key enhancements

Structural dynamics and system NVH workflows

The latest updates complete the transition to newer workflows in Simcenter Testlab Neo software. Test engineers can use integrated structural dynamics workflows for test setup and execution. The workflows are designed to support consistent procedures for both experienced users and those with less testing experience.

Siemens reports efficiency improvements of up to 35% across the structural dynamics process. New system NVH prediction workflows combine component characterization with virtual prototyping and can evaluate performance up to 60% faster before physical prototypes are available.

Simcenter Testlab Neo brings shaker acquisition, real-time visual setup feedback, and full Simcenter SCADAS hardware support into one unified structural dynamics testing environment helping users of any expertise level improve data quality and reduce setup errors

Preparing data for AI applications

The updates combine data acquisition, analysis and management in one environment. New annotation and automation functions help users create structured datasets with information about the test context.

Simcenter Testlab can also combine physical test data with virtual data for use in AI model development. The data management functions are intended to support traceability and reuse across projects.

Preparing for critical tests with simulation

New virtual shaker testing capabilities allow aerospace and defense teams to prepare for qualification and durability tests using simulation. Engineers can create models of the complete test setup and evaluate test scenarios before applying full test levels to physical hardware.

Simcenter Testlab introduces virtual shaker testing which helps engineers model the complete test setup, evaluate qualification scenarios, and refine controller settings before testing valuable hardware—reducing uncertainty and risk during critical spacecraft test campaigns

Automated NVH component model extraction

A new automated component model extraction solution supports the creation of reusable models for system-level NVH analysis. The workflows follow ISO 20270 and automate measurement and model extraction activities.

The solution is intended to support repeatable component testing and reduce manual work when characterizing components for use across projects.

Simcenter SCADAS functions without additional license requirements

Simcenter Testlab Go and Simcenter SCADAS Go support time-data acquisition, monitoring and validation with Simcenter SCADAS hardware. The software is available without a separate license and does not require dongles or network-based license access.

This provides an additional way to use existing Simcenter SCADAS hardware for testing and data collection.
