The processor cuts benchmark preprocessing time from 46 minutes to 6 minutes and integrates with Materialise Magics.

Additive Industries and Materialise announced the availability of the Additive Industries Next-Generation Build Processor software for MetalFab systems. Developed with Materialise, the software combines the functions of the existing Additive Industries Build Processor with additional capabilities for build preparation, process control and production management.
The Next-Generation Build Processor reduces preprocessing time, supports large and complex builds and provides additional control over scan strategies. It is designed for industrial metal additive manufacturing applications that require consistent process execution and repeatable results.
The software supports capabilities introduced with the MetalFab 420K, including laser load balancing, variable beam diameter control by vector type, thermal management using ghost vectors and additional exposure strategy controls.
Benchmark testing showed a reduction in processing time from 46 minutes with the Classic Build Processor 2.6 to 6 minutes with the Next-Generation Build Processor. The performance improvement results from multiprocessing and algorithm updates.
The Next-Generation Build Processor integrates with Materialise Magics for build preparation, configuration and job submission. Existing users can import profiles from the Classic Build Processor when transitioning to the new software.
The software is available for MetalFab customers and supports the creation of production-ready build files with additional process-control and build-preparation functions.
