Eurocom launches Raptor X18 Server Edition laptop

Eurocom’s Server-on-the-Go enables mobile, high-performance server deployment for various applications.

Eurocom has released the Raptor X18 Server Edition, a laptop designed for mobile server applications. Weighing 7.9 lbs, the system features two LAN ports, Intel’s 24-core/24-thread processor, up to 256GB of memory, and 32TB of NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0/1/5 configurations. It also includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports that can be adapted for additional network connectivity using Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet or fiber LAN adapters. The system supports various operating systems, including Windows Server 2025, Qubes, and Linux.

On-the-go server technology

Enterprises are facing growing challenges with traditional server solutions, including energy use, infrastructure demands, and mobility limitations. Mobile server technology addresses these issues with a design focused on energy efficiency, enterprise-grade components, and a compact form factor. This approach supports use cases that were previously difficult to implement with conventional servers.

Eurocom’s Server-on-the-Go (SotG) technology allows businesses and organizations to deploy mobile servers for a variety of applications, including mobile computing, quick server setup, private cloud hosting, and edge computing. It provides a portable solution with enterprise-level performance for use in diverse environments.

The SotG approach is beneficial for network monitoring and auditing, application and software development, training centers, military operations, manufacturing, marketing events, trade shows, emergency relief operations, and service organizations. It also allows start-ups and organizations to establish full network capabilities instantly, straight out of the box.

Eurocom’s mobile servers come in a laptop form factor, integrating a screen, keyboard, and internal battery that acts like uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with up to 2 hours of backup power. These systems can be hand-carried around with ease and deployed anywhere, eliminating the need for a dedicated server room while still providing enterprise-class computing power.

The Raptor X18: a versatile server-on-the-go solution

The Eurocom Raptor X18 Server Edition is designed for easy deployment in various environments. Weighing 7.9 lbs, the Raptor X18 comes standard with dual 2.5GbE LAN ports, Intel’s 24-core/24-thread processor, 256GB of memory, and 32TB of NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0/1/5 configurations. There are also two Thunderbolt 5 ports can be utilized as additional LAN ports with Thunderbolt to Ethernet or Fiber LAN adapters.

Raptor X18 Server Edition is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Microsoft Server 2025, Qubes OS, and Linux distributions, making it a highly adaptable solution across industries.

Challenging traditional server rooms

For decades, enterprises have relied on large-scale server rooms to manage computational workloads. These environments come with numerous limitations:

  • Expensive infrastructure – Requires dedicated real estate, climate control systems, and redundant power sources.
  • Operational complexity – Needs on-site maintenance teams, lengthy setup times, and carries downtime risks.
  • Limited mobility – Once deployed, traditional servers remain static, requiring remote access for offsite work.
  • High energy demands – Large-scale cooling systems increase power consumption and operational costs.

The Raptor X18 eliminates these constraints by delivering a server-class machine that can be transported anywhere, providing industries with on-the-go high-performance computing.

Key technical advantages over traditional servers

At the core of the Raptor X18 is the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 275HX, featuring 24 cores, 24 threads, and a 36MB cache. This processor is engineered for highly parallel workloads, excelling in AI model training, large-scale simulations, and real-time forensic analysis. Unlike traditional servers that demand remote access and extended processing times, the Raptor X18 provides immediate enterprise-level computing power on demand.

Paired with this CPU is an unprecedented 256GB of DDR5 memory, allowing complex datasets to be processed in real time. Memory-intensive applications such as AI inference, financial modelling, and cybersecurity analytics benefit from the ability to load entire datasets into memory, eliminating bottlenecks and optimizing performance.

For storage, the Raptor X18 supports up to 32TB of high-speed NVMe SSDs across four M.2 PCIe slots, configurable in RAID 0, RAID 1, or RAID 5 for maximum performance and data integrity:

  • RAID 0 – Maximum performance and speed for intensive workloads.
  • RAID 1 – Full redundancy to safeguard critical data.
  • RAID 5 – A balance of performance and fault tolerance for enterprise-level reliability.

Despite its power, the Raptor X18 is built for mobility. Constructed from aluminum magnesium alloy (5052), it offers durability without excess weight. At just 1.29 inches (32.8mm) thick, it is a truly portable high-performance server—a stark contrast to immobile server racks requiring dedicated cooling systems.
