The companies are also working across EPYC, Instinct, Pensando and ROCm for Meta services and AI workloads.
AMD is working with Meta on rackscale systems, processors, GPUs, networking and software for Meta’s AI infrastructure. AMD Helios rackscale solutions are running at Meta, AMD EPYC processors support Meta’s Muse AI agent and AMD technologies provide Day-0 support for Meta models including Muse Spark Open and Muse Glimmer.
The collaboration includes AMD EPYC processors, AMD Instinct GPUs, AMD Pensando networking and AMD ROCm software for Meta services and AI infrastructure.
AMD at Meta Infrastructure
AMD technology is used in Meta’s infrastructure across compute, networking, systems and software.
- AMD Helios rackscale systems are installed at Meta and are being tested.
- AMD EPYC processors support the computing environments behind Meta’s Muse personal AI agent. Meta has deployed EPYC processors across multiple generations and is a customer for 6th Gen EPYC CPUs. The companies are also working on future generations, including Verano.
- AMD Instinct GPUs are used in Meta’s infrastructure for training, ranking and recommendation engines. Meta was also an early definition customer for the AMD Instinct MI450 architecture and will deploy a custom AMD Instinct GPU for its workloads. The collaboration also informs future AMD platforms, including AMD Instinct MI500 series GPUs and next-generation rack-scale systems.
- AMD and Meta have worked together on ROCm through PyTorch so developers can use AMD GPUs with less setup. AMD also provided Day-0 support for Meta’s Muse Spark Open models on AMD Instinct GPUs and for Muse Glimmer on AMD Ryzen AI PCs and AMD Radeon GPUs.
- AMD and Meta have expanded their software collaboration to large-scale AI training, including work on recommendation models running on AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs and contributions to PyTorch, Triton and ROCm.
As Meta expands its AI infrastructure, the companies are working across silicon, software and systems to support current and future workloads. AMD also plans to invest $1 billion in Meta’s equity offering.
