The new tier adds centralized licensing, invoice-based purchasing, SSO and IT management through the Vectorworks Customer Portal.

Morpholio, a Vectorworks company, has launched Trace for Business, an enterprise subscription option that provides organizations with centralized purchasing and license management for Morpholio Trace through the Vectorworks Customer Portal. The offering builds on Vectorworks’ acquisition of Morpholio and extends the purchasing, licensing and administrative tools available for Vectorworks software to the iPad-based sketching application.
Until now, Trace subscriptions have been available through the Apple App Store. The application provides digital drawing, markup and design development tools for designers and teams. App Store subscriptions will remain available to existing customers and new users who prefer that purchasing model.
Trace for Business provides organizations with an alternative purchasing option, including invoice-based billing, centralized license management and enterprise deployment capabilities through the Vectorworks Customer Portal. Existing Trace B2B customers will retain access to their current licenses and continue to receive Trace Pro updates.
Software purchasing and license management
Organizations can purchase Trace subscriptions through the Vectorworks Customer Portal using invoice-based procurement workflows. Administrators can assign licenses to individual users and manage access through Vectorworks accounts, allowing organizations to adjust deployments as team and staffing requirements change.
Trace for Business also supports Vectorworks single sign-on (SSO), enabling assigned users to access Trace through their organization’s existing Vectorworks identity. Existing Trace users can migrate projects, stencils and custom color palettes to their new Vectorworks account.
IT and deployment controls
Trace for Business supports Mobile Device Management (MDM), allowing organizations to manage application access and configure settings according to their IT requirements. Available controls include options related to storage, exports, AI features and other application settings.
Organizations purchasing five or more licenses receive premium support, including phone support and personal onboarding.
Trace Ultra
Trace for Business includes early access to capabilities planned for Trace Ultra, a new product tier scheduled to become publicly available later in 2026. The tier is intended to expand Trace’s functionality as a vector-based BIM and CAD companion application.
The initial Ultra capability increases the maximum number of layers per project from 25 to 50. Additional Ultra features are planned for release throughout 2026, with introductory pricing available to early adopters.
The offering also builds on the direct Morpholio Trace integration introduced with Vectorworks 2026 Update 5, which connects freehand iPad sketching with Vectorworks design files and documentation.
Trace for Business is available through the Vectorworks Customer Portal. Individual subscribers can continue to access Morpholio Trace through the Apple App Store.
