Robotic automation of production processes is common in high profile consumer goods manufacturing, such as the automotive and appliance industries. Many other industries however, are starting to enjoy the productivity benefits of robotics. And the switch from fixed-based robotics to mobile units is a major part of the story.

According to the International Federation of Robotics, a pilot program at Spanish textile manufacturer CETRIKO is using a PAL Robotics TIAGo Pro mobile manipulator to perform tasks that previously required operators to lift and position yarn cones in repetitive motion.
