MathWorks and MapmyIndia support ADAS development in India

The integration combines HD maps with MATLAB, Simulink and RoadRunner to simulate traffic and road conditions.

MathWorks announced a collaboration with MapmyIndia Mappls to support automotive engineers developing and validating advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for Indian road conditions.

The integration connects MapmyIndia’s high-definition maps with MATLAB, Simulink and RoadRunner. Engineering teams can use the tools to simulate road and traffic conditions, create digital representations of Indian road environments and test ADAS controllers within a Model-Based Design workflow.

Developing ADAS for Indian roads involves variable traffic patterns, different road infrastructure, changing lane behavior and evolving road layouts. MapmyIndia’s HD maps include lane-level road geometry, traffic controls, road attributes and India-specific features such as speed breakers, potholes and faded lane markings.

The integration adds MapmyIndia Mappls location technologies and HD maps to the MathWorks ecosystem for automated-driving development. The combined tools support simulation, algorithm development and validation for ADAS applications intended for the Indian market.
