Hexagon releases Luciad 2025 for defense and intelligence agencies

Luciad 2025 will be available at the end of June 2025.

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division has released Luciad 2025.0, an updated version of its platform used for developing location intelligence and real-time situational awareness applications. The new release includes enhancements to visualization, mapping, and control of defense and intelligence data.

Users and developers now have expanded options for working with National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) data, the standard for sharing digital imagery and related intelligence among U.S. defense and intelligence agencies. Updates to LuciadFusion and LuciadLightspeed support both non-georeferenced and georeferenced views, improving how images and vector overlays are managed. LuciadFusion also adds browser-based viewing, supporting more flexible access to NITF content.

LuciadCPillar has been updated with a new view-based, line-of-sight feature. This real-time visual tool uses terrain data to assess visibility and support situational awareness.

LuciadRIA and LuciadLightspeed now support connections to Microsoft Azure Maps, enabling Bing Maps users to continue their existing workflows on a current and supported mapping platform.
