A lot depends on what aspects of these technologies your want to concentrate on. There are three distinct types of engineers involved in the development of these products.

1. Electrical Engineers - They are involved in the design of the electronics inside these devices.

2. Software / Computer Engineers - They are involved in the design of the software that runs these devices.

3. Mechanical Engineer - They design the Enclosures and housing for these devices.

Within all three of the discplines there are specalities that you will ba able to get into.

If you want to be on the cutting edge of these devices and the devices that will replace them in the future you might want to look into Engineering Physics.
