ZWSOFT has released ZW3D WuKong 2027X, an update to its integrated 3D CAD and manufacturing platform. The release builds on the parametric design technology introduced in ZW3D WuKong 2027. It includes updates for sketching, mechanical design, drawing creation and machining intended to reduce repetitive operations and support the development of complex designs.
Updates to sketching and modeling
ZW3D WuKong 2027X updates geometric constraint tools for common sketching operations. The Coincident, Horizontal/Vertical, Equal and Symmetric commands can automatically apply the corresponding constraints based on the selected geometry, reducing the need to select commands manually.
The release also updates several modeling operations. Users can select faces directly when using the Move command, while Pattern Geometry and Mirror Geometry prioritize solid bodies by default. These changes apply to commonly used modeling functions.
Drawing creation and DWG export
The release includes updates to engineering drawing workflows. Automatic projection direction selection reduces manual adjustments when creating drawing views. Users can select individual bodies from multibody parts in the preview window, and updated centerline tools provide additional options for drawing preparation.
For DWG and DXF workflows, ZW3D WuKong 2027X allows existing drawings to be used as export templates. Users can also control which drawing elements are exported or synchronized.
Sheet metal design and CAM updates
ZW3D WuKong 2027X adds tools for creating gussets and welded corners in sheet metal designs. Updated bend tables consolidate bend angles, radii, directions and K-factors for use during design and manufacturing preparation.
CAM updates include additional options for Z-constant machining and support for chamfer tools in Surface Engraving. Offset 2D Roughing also includes predrill point options for tool entry into closed pockets.
