I am looking for some tips on building a hydrocyclonic filter for removing sand and other solids from 180 deg. caustic cleaning solution. We are having trouble with sand buildup in the storage tank. A few different filters have been tried but the always clog up. I am leaning toward hydrocyclonic because it would be a relatively inexpensive and simple solution. I am concerned about inlet size and geometry and also the angle of the cyclone bottom. It would be flowing about 100 gal. a minute. Any input would be great. Thanks to all.
