    Hi Everyone

I am newbie here and would like to see if anyone can enlighten me why austenite is not magentic while ferrite is magentic.

Is there anything on the grain arrangement that could influence the magnetism like fcc or bcc ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

austenites having very fine grain structure and very less space to movement of free radicals... Wheather ferritic material having much porus than austenite and gives morespace to radicals to move. So when magnet comes closer to ferritic material it get attaracted while austenites dosent react.
