why ther is NORMALIZING and FULLY KILLED process done on the plate before the making of presser vessal?

actually I am working in ORIENTAL MFG.PVT.LTD( ‘U’ stamp compny.) in QC dept…so i have to check it every day abt NORMALIZING and FULLY KILLED process on plate.

Anish:

Normalizing [1] and Fully Killing [2], [3] steel are two process that are designed to ensure that the steel used to fabricate pressure vessels will make the most durable vessel possible.

Normalizing converts all the steel to austenite which is the most ductile form.

Fully Killed steel has be processed to ensure that there is not free oxygen in the steel. The oxygen in the steel will result in porosity when the steel is welded, there by reducing the strength of the steel joints.
