What is the working principle of a "paring disc"?
The application of the paring disc I am drawing attention to, is in a ALFA LAVAL intermittent discharge centrifuge. In the said centrifuge, the operating liquid is supplied on the under side of the bowl via the “PARING DISC”. This apparently maintains a constant operating liquid annulus under the bowl, as its pumping effect neutralizes the static pressure from the supply.
In the image, a top paring disc is denoted by No “4”. However, i was earlier referring to the control paring disc housed in the operating water device below the bowl body .
Any means of explanation is most welcome. thanks in advance!
