What does cc mean in a bike or a car?

cc means cubic centimeter in a bike or a car. its a dimensional representation of engine cylinder volume. the actual cylinder volume where d combustion process takes place.

Cubic Centimetres. I know, I asked my dad what that wasone time.

CC in bikes stands for Cubic Centimeter capacity of combusion cylinder, which denotes the power in the engine, more CC> more power, More torque.
also If CC of a vehical is more the fuel consumption also more.

the term cc in any engine is the displacement of the motor measured in cubic centimeters. a car that has a 1.8L engine will have an 1800cc engine. The displacement is a calculation of the bore and the stroke. The bore is the diameter of the area swept by the pistion and the stroke is the movement from top dead center to botom dead center. To calculate it the equation is:

Displacement=stroke x pi x [(bore/2)(bore/2)] x [number of cylinders]

basically shows the usable area of the cylinder. also it does not define how much power (hp or torque) the engine will have. when getting into that you have to take into consideration the compression ratio and type of induction along with a few other factors. For example say the fox body mustangs put out about 300hp with some mods. The new nissan GTR puts out 480hp. Same with torque. Mustang is using a 5.0L V8 and the GTR is using a twin turbo 6cyl (i wanna say a 3.7L). So you have a 5000cc engine and a 3700cc engine and the smaller engi

and on fuel consumption…for the most part that is right…but with new technologies such as displacement on demand (dod) some V8’s will get better fuel economy on the highway than a small V6 without DOD
