Video: Small Shops are Investing in Multitasking Machine Tools – Okuma

We spoke to an Okuma product specialist to learn who's buying multitasking machine tools.

Like headphones, cars or at the Snap-On tool truck, there’s really no upper bound to the amount of money you can spend on a machining center. Advanced simultaneous five axis machines, multitasking machines with accessories like tool or pallet changers can easily cost into the low seven figures.

This may make it seem like only the largest, most deep-pocketed organizations can afford advanced machining capability. However, according to Okuma machining center product specialist Errol Burrell, smaller, 20-30 person shops are investing in advanced functionality too, to harness the value these machines can add to an operation’s capability set.

Check out the video above to see what Burrell had to say. Visit Okuma for more information.
