Manufacturing suffers under a bad image as dull, dirty, and dangerous work. That’s a major misconception, and today’s manufacturing jobs are some of the most technologically advanced, high-value jobs on the market. In addition, the sector is suffering from a skills gap, with manufacturing employers struggling to find qualified candidates.

Sandi Bouckley is the CEO and Executive Director of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. We asked her about the challenge of creating awareness of the new, high-quality jobs in the manufacturing industry.
