From the Website provided there is nothing in the engine specification for the Suzuki Swift to indicated that it is a VDI engine.

From what I can find. When taking about Maruti Swift Automobiles LDi and VDi are two different variations on the same basic car.

I am not sure these model designations are related to the acronym you originally were referring to.- VDI, which you defined as Variable Direct Injection.
Variable Direct Injection is a technology that has been tired in a variety of internal combustion engines (mostly diesel) where the amount of fuel injected directly into the cylinder can be varied depending on the demands for the engine.
This method allows for improved fuel economy under high engine RPM’s but low power demands.

I got it what is VDI- Variable Direct Injection, where it injects the fuel at different pressure as required by the engine. When there is an increase in load the injection pressure is varied between 1400psi to 1600psi. But i was asked myself a question if this is being applied in that car.
