Multimar 844 T Universal Gage measures ODs and IDs up to 2500 mm.
The Multimar 844 T universal gage is the latest offering from Mahr Federal.
It is built on a finely ground, hard chrome-plated column and available in a range of sizes. The gage can measure ODs and IDs up to 2500 mm (98 in).
Improvements to the 844 T include a new precision guideway with ball bearings on the moveable arm. New stop elements include 3-point support for tilt measuring motion on the workpiece. New heat isolating handles are designed to reduce thermal influences.
The gage also comes with a set of mounting stands to prevent damage when not in use. It can be fitted with any measuring indicator with an 8 mm (0.3 in) mounting shank, including wireless indicators for data collection without cables.
The stationary measuring arm can be moved along the column for coarse adjustment. A built-in measuring force spring applies constant measuring force. Both the direction of the measuring force and the measuring arms can be changed for either external or internal dimensions.
Gages larges than 1000 mm (39.75 in) incorporate a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic tube to lighten the gage without losing stability.

Anvils and tips for the gage are available in a variety of shapes and configurations, including threads, flat and spherical shoulders, blades and round faces.
Depth stops can be set to the exact measuring depth in the horizontal measurement position to provide support on the reference plane surface. This is intended to improve repetitive accuracy when conducting comparison measurements in the second axis. In addition, when used with a rectangular gage block the universal gage can provide depth measurements on cones.
The Multimar 844 T is available in seven models for different ID/OD size ranges. All are supplied with a battery, instruction manual, mounting and resting blocks and a wooden case.
