TrueSOLID Gets Generative Design Upgrade

Industry-first technology makes designs manufacturable.

Colorado-based generative design company Frustum has announced the commercial release of the latest version of its TrueSOLID technology, which powers its flagship Generate product.

The new release contains Frustum’s proprietary TrueSOLID volumetric geometry kernel, which enables the blending of topology-optimized models with traditional non-optimized models, allowing the best of both worlds without the need for chopping up your topology-optimized model in order to make it manufacturable. The kernel is a first for industry and will, according to Frustum, put us one step closer to single-click designs.

In addition to the new kernel that enables the geometric blending, the new version of TrueSOLID contains updates enabling multipart assembly optimization, new optimization modes and kernel-integrated mesostructure (lattice) functionality.

The Generate platform is a browser-based application running in the cloud, and you can try a demo at this link. The technology is currently being commercially licensed to Siemens PLM software, serving Siemens NX and Siemens SolidEdge customers.
