TRICK 3D is to debut the beta version of Floorplan Revolution, a software that lets users generate realistic virtual spaces using only a 2D floor plan. TRICK 3D is an immersive media studio with involvement in virtual reality, 3D animation, character animation and stereoscopic 3D (in which each eye is presented with a slightly different image to create the illusion of 3D).

Floorplan Revolution is meant to become TRICK 3D’s flagship offering in virtual reality. It’s targeted toward the architecture, real estate and construction industries. The program is due to debut at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015, an event that showcases innovative start-ups and new technologies.

With Floorplan Revolution, users can create realistic walkthroughs based on 2D floor plans and can customize features such as flooring, windows and interiors. This enables the user to present a realistic experience of a structure before it’s even been constructed. TRICK 3D intends for the program to be available for purchase by the end of 2015.

This announcement follows on the heels of TRICK 3D’s first venture into virtual reality through its partnership with Delta Air Lines. TRICK 3D worked with Delta to use virtual reality installations to give customers a lifelike boarding and aircraft walkthrough experience. This allowed Delta to show the benefits of an aircraft before it ever reaches the runway. This virtual reality pop-up experience has been used in airports across the U.S. in Delta Sky Clubs.

Compared to other virtual reality studios, TRICK 3D stands out in its filmmaking experience. It has produced a variety of pieces, from a Christmas-themed original movie to animated commercials for Coca-Cola. The studio claims that this background gives it an edge in realism and inventive storytelling.

In fact, TRICK 3D has recently opened the only fully-capable virtual studio in the southeast U.S. It’s equipped with motion capture, a virtual camera system and a technology called TRICKCam, which can track actors in real-time in virtual reality environments.

TRICK 3D has more than ten years of experience in creating virtual worlds. According to Founder Chad Eikhoff, this makes it “extremely well-positioned to be a leader in providing realistic and accessible [virtual reality] solutions. Floorplan Revolution solves the age-old problem of not being able to visualize a floor plan, and it’ll be accessible on all devices, including [virtual reality].”
