transmissions convert high speed low torque input to lower speed higher torque, is there an opposite device?
I know transmissions, gearboxes or reductors convert high speed low torque input from a motor to lower speed higher torque output, are there devices that do the opposite?
Drive the same transmission from the output shaft and you will do just what you are asking to do.
It is not common to do this sort of conversion any more since most rotary machines spin quickly but is was common to do it in the not to distant past. Example a water wheel driving a flour mill or a lathe.
