The EV6000 UV LED is the latest offering from Magnaflux. This nondestructive testing lamp’s wide beam allows for shorter inspections and faster results than the previous generation. The lamp’s 9” (23 cm) beam is 33 percent wider than a generic UV light.

The lamp works by generating UV-A radiation using special high-performance LEDs and focused through custom-designed optics. Each unit is shipped with a manufacturer’s certificate of conformance, confirming that the lamp meets or exceeds all current specifications for use with fluorescent liquid penetrant and magnetic particle testing.

The EV6000 is designed to stand up to the kinds of environments that NDT professionals deal with. With reinforced construction and a sealed enclosure using chemical-resistant materials, there are no fan-cooling systems to clog or fail. In addition, Magnaflux’s custom-designed optics do not solarize.

The unit weighs in a full 30 percent less than mercury-vapor UV lamps, reducing stress and fatigue in the inspection booth. Cool-running LEDs and passive heat dissipation prevent any risk of operator burns.

With its controlled emission and included UV filter, the EV6000 meets all Aerospace Prime and OEM specifications for emission spectrum and beam profile.

The new TM Microscope Series from Mitutoyo offers enhanced features and an ergonomic design. The TM Series is a toolmaker’s microscope intended for measuring dimensions and angles of machined metals.

It can also be used to check the shape of screws and gears by attaching an optional reticle. The compact body is designed for use on shop floors with limited space.

Product highlights include:

  • Newly designed LED illuminators, which provide enhanced observation for higher accuracy and resolution
  • Modified base design with a lateral notch makes it easy to carry and move
  • Improved extensibility by the optical Camera Adapter

Renishaw Multi-Sensor Measuring Head

The REVO-2 multi-sensor 5-axis measuring head.

Renishaw recently launched the REVO-2, a new version of its multi-sensor 5-axis measuring head for use on coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

REVO-2 and its new CMM controller, the UCC S5, offer enhanced power and communications capabilities to carry the latest REVO sensors, such as the RVP vision measurement probe. The REVO multi-sensor system is notable for enabling operators to perform 5-axis measurements on a 3-axis CMM, measuring thousands of points per second and operating at speeds of up to 500 mm/s.

The REVO-2 incorporates Renishaw’s latest ATOM miniature incremental rotary encoder with RCDM rotary (angle) scales on both of its axes (yaw & pitch) and is the first product to have the ATOM encoder designed-in at the concept stage.

Each 20 µm-pitch RCDM glass disc is face-read by a dual-readhead setup which helps to optimize REVO-2 performance by eliminating rotational eccentricity error.

Vision Engineering Inc. has announced an enhanced version of their Lynx EVO eyepiece-less stereo microscope. The new version includes optional zoom magnification multipliers to increase total system magnification up to 240x.

The multiplier module increases the magnification range to 6x – 120x (240x max.), extending the effective zoom ratio up to 20:1. The multiplier increases magnification without altering working distance, resulting in a powerful and adaptable inspection microscope with a wide range of magnifications in 3D (stereo).

The patented eyepiece-less design of Lynx EVO is intended to eliminate the difficulty and strains of microscope usage, providing ergonomic performance to enhance operator productivity and ease of use.
The new zoom magnification multipliers can be engaged/disengaged with the slide of the lever.

Users can perform high-magnification optical inspection or disengage the multiplier to view the maximum low magnification field of view – offering a variety of magnification options.

Lynx EVO is available in a range of configurations designed for use in different environments, from production and manufacturing inspection to laboratories and medical device clean rooms. Additional accessories include HD image capture and a 360° rotating viewer.
