3D Systems continues to democratize 3D Printing by offering a free sketching named Cubify Draw up that uploads directly to Cubify or can generate an STL file for home printing.
In a move to further democratize 3D printing, 3D Systems unleashed Cubify(R) Draw. This free iOS app for iPhone(R), iPad(R), and iPad Mini(TM), allows users to doodle an object on the touch screen and easily send it to Cubify.com for 3D printing or generate an STL file. If you can doodle, you can create 3D, unless you run Android.
Users begin with a 2D sketch. The built-in tools then allow for thickening, fills, extrusions, and auto-connects to make a watertight solid that can be 3D printed. It’s not exactly your professional level CAD tool, so don’t expect to create anything beyond simple items like pendants, cookie cutters, and trinkets.
Give it a shot. Try it on the AppStore today.
