Tech Soft 3D introduces VizStreamer for CAE

New tool runs legacy desktop simulation software in browser without major rewrites, cutting development time and costs.

Tech Soft 3D will present its new VizStreamer tool at the NAFEMS World Conference 2025 in Salzburg, Austria, as part of its simulation visualization offering. VizStreamer enables legacy CAE desktop applications to deliver web-based visualization by progressively streaming data to web clients for in-browser rendering. This approach avoids the need for extensive rewrites of the application’s core functionality, helping reduce development time and resource requirements.

Innovation in supporting legacy cloud applications cloud transition

Previously, organizations had limited options for moving desktop CAE applications to the web. Remote desktop technologies offered a partial solution but often introduced security concerns, higher operational costs, and suboptimal user experiences. Alternatively, rewriting applications for the browser required significant time and financial investment.

Tech Soft 3D’s VizStreamer provides a way for companies to maintain the established functionality of their desktop applications while making them accessible through a web interface. Using WebGL for rendering, VizStreamer supports a browser-based experience without relying on server-side GPUs, which can help lower operational costs and improve scalability.

Architecture and implementation

Tech Soft 3D’s VizStreamer service streams CAE application visualization data to a WebGL engine in real time, accessible through any modern browser. The service is designed to work with existing application logic, allowing integration without major redevelopment. In its NAFEMS presentation, Tech Soft 3D will outline the service’s technical setup, interface with application logic, and support for additional CAE data sources. An example of data flow and reuse from an existing CAE application will also be shared to help guide developers considering modernization of their desktop tools.
