Stratasys Releases New Objet 1000 Plus

New Industrial Scale 3D Printing System From Stratasys

Stratasys just announced the introduction of its industrial scale Objet 1000 Plus 3D Production System.  Compared to its other systems, the Objet 1000 has an extra large build volume and faster speeds.  The company is aiming the Objet 1000 Plus at manufacturing applications in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and consumer products, as well as service bureaus and universities.

The Objet1000 Plus can mix materials and part sizes while keeping the microns on the x, y and z axes low.  The build envelope is 1000 x 800 x 500 mm (or 39 x 31 x 19 inch) is accommodated by a new “optimized print block movement” that boasts print speeds up to 40 percent faster than its predecessor. The claim is that this productivity boost will result in a significant reduced cost-per-part.

There are over 100 Stratasys materials available, such as the polypropylene-like Endur. The Objet1000 Plus can use the new Endur Digital Materials (which combine two resins in a single material) to give users a larger palette of  material properties to choose from.

“The range of materials is quite extensive,” says Ron Ellenbogen, Stratasys Product Marketing Director. “From rubber-like materials to Digital ABS to various Shore A levels, up to 14 material properties are possible on a single part. And many parts can be produced with varying properties in a single run.”

The workflow is more similar to smaller PolyJet 3D printing systems, so the claim is that there will be less trade-offs between part size and part quality.  The system is designed to be simple to operate, and some of this simplicity is reserved for users to enjoy long periods of unattended operation.

“The range of materials is quite extensive,” says Ron Ellenbogen, Stratasys Product Marketing Director. “From rubber-like materials to Digital ABS to various Shore A levels, up to 14 material properties are possible on a single part. And many parts can be produced with varying properties in a single run.  Today’s designers and engineers at manufacturing companies and service bureaus need an additive manufacturing system that can take on all challenges – large and small. We believe that’s the big advantage of the Objet1000 Plus Production System. It is the first of its kind to combine large print sizes, multiple materials, accelerated print speeds, super fine resolution and a simplified workflow. If you need to create industrial 1:1 scale prototypes, large ergonomic production tools or low volumes of small parts – all with the superior surface finish and fine details engineers expect from Stratasys 3D printing – the Objet1000 Plus is  the best choice,” he continued.

If you are curious about the Objet1000 Plus and happen to be near Hannover, Germany, visit the Stratasys booth in Hall 7 Stand A40 at Hannover Messe 2015 this week, from April 13-17 to learn more.
