Seoul, South Korea – INUS Technology, Inc. announces it has entered into a new sales agreement with Steinbichler Optotechnik (www.steinbichler.de). Steinbichler, based in Bavaria, will offer Rapidform software to buyers of the company’s 3D digitizing systems. Rapidform software opens both point cloud and polygon mesh data created by Steinbichler digitizers, and Rapidform XOR allows users to create parametric, editable CAD models, while Rapidform XOV compares pre-existing CAD models to digitized objects for quality inspection purposes.
Steinbichler recognizes that many buyers of its 3D digitizers are using the system to create new engineering models of existing parts, and has begun working with Rapidform based on its leadership in the field of CAD model creation from digitized data. Rapidform XOR is the only software available that creates parametric, history-based solid models directly from a 3D digitizer. Dr. Hans Steinbichler indicated why his company chose Rapidform: “As more people are recognizing the benefits of reverse engineering with 3D digitizer data, we are pleased that we can offer INUS Technology’s products to fulfill the needs of our customers. It is clear that Rapidform leads the pack in 3D scanning software, which means the combined Steinbichler + Rapidform solution is a great choice for the market.”
Dr. Calvin Hur, Senior Vice President of Global Sales for INUS Technology, remarked “We’re very pleased to enhance our relationship with Steinbichler. We have worked together informally for several years, but as Rapidform’s market leadership is solidifying around the world, now is a great time to work more closely to provide the best possible product combinations to companies needing precise, fast 3D digitizing solutions.”
Many companies use Breuckmann scanners to capture the geometry of parts and the tools that make them, in order to create CAD models where none existed before. There are a handful of software products available to convert the scan data into CAD models, but Rapidform XOR is the only one that creates CAD solids with parametrically-driven feature trees. This allows users to make perfected models rather than copies of imperfect real-world parts. Crucially, users can also edit the CAD models inside Rapidform XOR, or in SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER or Siemens NX.
