speed increasing gear

speed increasing gear

i need a design of speed increasing gear box that can increase 12 rpm to 1400 rpm, plz help me to design the same

ok can some body help me to design a complete step by step gear box for 14RPM to 1400 RPM increasing speed gears..i hope its need 3 step of 1×5 gears ?? please help me out as 1st step is – 14×5=70rpm , 2nd step 70×5=350 rpm 3 rd step needed 350×4 multiply 1400 rpm can it work .. ? please advice ………

I want to use 5HP power with this gears machine

Going from 12rpm to 1400 rpm is an enormous increase in ratio 116.667 :1 is an approximation to 3 decimal place. It will take multiple stages. Do you required an exact ratio?

If so you will require at least one stage that increases the ratio instead of only using gears that reduce the ratio. I would recommend doing this at the end of your gear train.

you could try to replicate a lorry/truck gearbox,
or as a matter of fact a the gear box of a land-rover..

if what you need is a linear increase why not use a state of the art inverter?

it all depends of the application

Kummar:

You can get exactly from 12 rpm to 1400 rpm

Stage one 5:1
Stage two 1:3
Stage three 7:1
Stage four 10:1

These are all easy to do ratios. You should be able to get the off-the-shelf.

How much power are you going to be transmitting through this transmission?

Kumar:

5 Hp = 2750 foot-lbs / second so a gear turning 12 rpm or 0.2 rps will have approximately 14000 ft-lbs of torque on the shaft. That will be one hefty gear. You most likely need to consider a planetary or epicyclic gear system. Using that type of system you may be able to do your speed increase in fewer stages.
