SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual Announcement Breaks via Twitter

SolidWorks announced their long-awaited direct modeling tool to the public today at the SolidWorks World 2013 event in Orlando, Florida.  I've been looking forward to this event for some time now anticipating an announcement like this.  What surprised me however was that I found it easier to get the news via Twitter than from the more conventional digital sources.

SolidWorks announced their long-awaited direct modeling tool, SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual, to the public today at the SolidWorks World 2013 event in Orlando, Florida.  Many have been looking forward to this event for some time now anticipating an announcement like this.  What surprised me however was that I found it easier to get the news via Twitter than from the more conventional digital sources.

Despite #SWW13 attendees reporting a lack of sufficient wifi coverage, and Twitter’s congestion today, the Tweet stream emerging from the show is both entertaining and informative.

There are actually two morals to this story…

  1. SolidWorks has some impressive new tools coming down the road.
  2. Twitter continues to prove its value as a news & publishing tool.
