Solibri Partners with Norwegian Imerso

HELSINKI, Finland  and OSLO, Norway, Nov 29, 2022 – Solibri, the leading provider of BIM quality assurance and quality control and part of the Nemetschek Group, announced a commercial partnership of Solibri with the Norwegian tech startup Imerso.

Solibri and the Norwegian startup Imerso signed a commercial agreement

The partnership leverages quality BIM models created by Solibri customers on-site in the construction phase through Imerso’s easy 3D Scanning and automated quality control monitoring software. Imerso is unique in how the solution enables customers to go to the next step with BIM by taking the model-based construction process to the actual site – checking that construction follows the design.

The companies have joined forces to improve the workflow between BIM and site this year, so that all data from Imerso’s inspection platform can now be easily imported for analysis in Solibri, including:

  • IFC files embedded with the current as-built status as properties, allow Solibri users to run custom rulesets and quantity takeoffs based on the real field conditions at the site.
  • BCF files of detected deviations between the onsite fieldwork and the specification of the building plans. These include the details of each reported case for easy follow-up with the responsible teams, with augmented reality screenshots, onsite location, and unique IFC ID of all objects and teams affected.
  • Automatic updating BIM to the as-built status at the press of a button, leveraging Imerso’s automated tools to eliminate countless hours of manual modeling work to keep BIM files relevant throughout the construction phase, and meet increasing Owner’s requirements for accurate BIM deliverables.

“The more customers invest into BIM, the more sense it makes to have efficient ways of tracking the built reality closely against those plans and keeping BIM relevant to project completion,” says Frederico Valente, Imerso founder, and CEO. “We are extremely excited to join forces with Solibri on our mission to drive productivity in the construction industry, and believe the combination of our products will create a fundamental change in the way BIM is used across the entire building lifecycle.”

“Taking BIM to site is one of the everlasting conversations where we have previously thought of model access, iPads, etc as solutions. Now we approach it differently by actually having a model-based workflow to ensure construction is done according to the design. People on-site don’t necessarily need to have access to the model, as long as they have the necessary knowledge of the project. With Imerso we can ensure that work is performed correctly, saving time, materials, and environment.” says Ville Kyytsönen, CEO Solibri.

The announcement comes on the heels of an investment in Imerso led by the Nemetschek Group earlier in January. Both companies will be presenting their products’ integrated workflows to visitors at this year’s edition of BIM World Munich November 22 and 23 in Germany.
