The food industry has special challenges in automation. Products are delicate, inconsistent in form and size and equipment must endure regular washdown and disinfection procedures. At Automate 2023, Soft Robotics demonstrated a packaging cell for poultry that combines AI with the speed of a delta robot for repeatable performance despite variations in the product’s size and shape. Harley Green, Soft Robotics vice president of strategic account, demonstrates the system to Jim Anderton.
