IoT connectivity is increasingly becoming a standard feature for industrial automation components. Smart motors can send condition data directly to a PLC or IoT platform.

Furthermore, there’s a growing trend toward more axes and servos in today’s machine tools.

In this video, we spoke to experts from the Siemens motion control division to learn more about smart motors and drives. The products featured in this video are Sinamics modular servo drives and Simotics synchronous servo motors. These products are designed for machine tool builders and industrial OEMs.
