Configit Ace 6.3 Release for Configuration Lifecycle Management Simplifies BOM Creation
Configit Ace offers engineers configuration lifecycle management (CLM) technology that extends the concept of PLM to a family of products with high levels of user specified configurations. The 6.3 release of the company’s Configit Ace platform focuses on simplifying the creation of multiple bills of materials (BOMs) to accommodate various product configurations.

Propel Extends Its Digital Product Thread to Product, Commercial and Service Operations
Propel Software differentiates its product value management (PVM) platform from standalone PLM, PIM and QMS technologies by attempting to extend the digital product thread across the enterprise. The company notes that by connecting traditionally siloed business functions, such as product, commercial and service operations, more people work together and improve product designs, quality and performance.
According to Gartner’s report, “Top BOM Practices for Building Digital Threads in Discrete Manufacturing Industries,” most product digital threads are limited to the design and manufacturing of products. Thus, Propel aims to address this limitation by adding service life and end of life processes to its digital thread.
Energy Sector PLM and ALM Software is Being Beta Tested by McDermott
The low-code PLM platform provider, Aras, and industrial software company, AVEVA, have signed a lighthouse (aka beta testing) agreement with the international engineering procurement and construction company McDermott to assess a new asset lifecycle management (ALM) tool for the energy, oil and gas, and nuclear sectors. This agreement follows one between AVEVA and Aras to produce new tools for the modular Aras Innovator platform to overcome the challenges of deploying PLM tools in large engineered-to-order projects and operations with continuous process assets.
