Siemens and TURN2X collaborate to expand green energy production

Siemens to become preferred supplier and technology partner for TURN2X’s production of renewable natural gas.

Siemens and Germany-based TURN2X have announced a global partnership to support the production of renewable natural gas through a technological collaboration. The partnership reflects the increasing interest in renewable natural gas as part of a broader energy transition strategy.

Dr. Dominik Schollenberger, co-founder and CTO of TURN2X (l.) and Axel Lorenz, CEO of Process Automation Siemens (r.), are signing the partnership agreement

TURN2X produces climate-neutral methane by combining green hydrogen with CO₂ from bioethanol plants, offering a renewable alternative to conventional natural gas. In collaboration with Siemens, the partnership seeks to expand TURN2X’s production capacity and improve operational efficiency using Siemens’ technology portfolio.

Under the agreement, Siemens will serve as technology supplier and partner for TURN2X, drawing on products from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. The collaboration targets three areas:

  1. Process optimization through automation systems and instrumentation adapted to TURN2X’s green‑methane production.
  2. Plant operation supported by digital‑twin and energy‑management tools for remote monitoring and control.
  3. Facility expansion through standardized solutions and cybersecurity measures intended to simplify and secure new installations.

This approach is intended to help TURN2X increase production capacity while meeting reliability requirements.

By enabling more efficient and scalable renewable natural gas production, the Siemens-TURN2X partnership will directly contribute to expanding the availability of green energy alternatives on the market.
