Maplesoft released its newest version of the Maple Grid Computing Toolbox that facilitates distributed computing using Maple software. Using the product, you can run Maple computations in parallel, taking advantage of all the hardware resources available. This can help reduce processing time and enable applications that were not possible in the past.
The Grid Computing Toolbox lets you distribute computations across the nodes of a network or workstations, a supercomputer, or across the CPUs of a multiprocessor machine, handing problems that are not tractable on a single machine.
The product provides built-in integration with Windows PHC Server, including Windows HPC Server 2008 R2. It connects directly to a user Window PHC Server cluster. It also integrates with the Windows HPC Server tool chain for administrative tasks such as job scheduling, load balancing, and usage monitoring. The toolbox uses the standard message passing interface (MPI) protocol for efficient communication between nodes in the grid and easy integration with tools that support this protocol.
