Mall security robot falls down steps into pool

Just a few days ago, Elon Musk, technology’s favorite poster child, reiterated how we should be afraid of AI (artificial intelligence), saying it was no less than a “fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization.” Steve, a “security robot,” aka robo mall cop, may have gotten a little too cocky as it patrolled a Georgetown (near Washington DC) office building. It failed to see steps and fell into a pool. It was 2 PM. First day on the job by himself.
I think we’re safe, Elon. At least for now.
