The XG-640 runs new TR3 inks and comes with new VersaWorks 7 and Roland DG Connect.
Roland DGA has introduced the TrueVIS Roland DG XG-640, a 64-inch eco-solvent printer/cutter designed for high-volume print environments. Available through authorized Roland DGA dealers, the XG-640 combines high print speeds, integrated contour cutting, and TrueVIS color technology to support efficient, high-quality output. With production speeds up to twice as fast as comparable solvent and latex systems, the XG-640 offers a performance-focused solution for print professionals.

Roland DG, which introduced integrated print-and-cut technology over 30 years ago, has continued to refine its solutions. The new XG-640 builds on this legacy, offering updated print/cut capabilities designed to improve workflow flexibility and operational efficiency.
For improved color and print accuracy, the XG-640 uses newly designed dual staggered printheads that release finer ink droplets at higher densities. Combined with enhanced high-speed data control, the printer can operate at speeds up to 819 square feet per hour.
The XG-640 takes full advantage of Roland DG’s new GBL-free, wide-gamut TR3 eco-solvent inks, which are available in a choice of configurations up to eight colors (CMYK, Lc, Lm, Or, and Gr). White ink printing is 3 times faster and 1.3 times denser than with the TrueVIS VG3, ensuring excellent opacity for window graphics and base coats.
True Rich Color is a print setting on the XG-640 that helps balance vivid colors with neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones. Users can choose from preset color options—such as more vivid, deeper, or softer tones—based on their specific output needs.
The XG-640 boasts additional productivity enhancements for efficient, high-quality output, including automatic media set-up and take-up systems to ensure fast and stable throughput, a 7-inch color LCD touch-screen control panel, automated pinch rollers, perforated sheet cutting, a media gap adjustment function, and self-maintenance features.
The XG-640 includes a software package featuring Roland DG’s VersaWorks 7 RIP software, which offers improved processing capacity, a user-friendly interface, and compatibility with both macOS and Windows. Users also gain access to the cloud-based Roland DG Connect platform, which offers tools to support workflow management and print operation monitoring.
