The two industrial multinationals will work to integrate automation technology and develop new products for smart factories
Industrial automation giant Rockwell Automation, Inc. has formed a partnership with global robot manufacturer Doosan Corp. to further integrate the two companies’ robots and controllers.
The two companies will also work together to develop robotic and other technologies for automation facilities, smart factory construction and other applications.
Doosan Robotics will become a long-term robot supplier for Rockwell’s manufacturing operations, while Rockwell will provide automation solutions for Doosan.
The partnership was announced as part of a historic summit in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 70th anniversary of the U.S. – South Korea alliance.
The agreement signing ceremony, was led by South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Chang-Yang. Doosan Corp. President and Chief Business Officer Hongsung Moon and Doosan Robotics Chief Executive Officer William Junghoon Ryu accompanied South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and other officials for a summit with U.S. President Joe Biden.
“Our two countries are broadening and deepening bilateral engagement to include bilateral partnership in advanced industries and technologies as well,” Minister Lee said.
Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., Rockwell Automation employs approximately 28,000 people in more than 100 countries. It reported 2023 second quarter sales of $2.275 billion, up 25.8 percent from $1.8 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2022.

Doosan is an industrial equipment and robotics manufacturer based in Seoul. It reported 2022 revenues of $12.6 billion.
