Webinar: Using CAE to Optimize Lightweight Tailor-Rolled Blank Components

Tailor-rolled blanks (TRB) are used to make lightweight parts for highly stressed structural applications.

Tailor-rolled blanks (TRB) are used to make lightweight parts for highly stressed structural applications.

The rolling process varies the thickness of the blanks based on simulations and optimizations performed by using computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • Lightweighting and optimization techniques for TRB designs
  • How Altair HyperWorks Unlimited reduced development time for manufacturer Mubea
  • How to automate CAD/CAE tools to mesh, assemble, assess and report on designs

About the Speaker:

Niklas Klinke is a CAE engineer at Mubea that specializes in process automation and optimization. He has a M.SC in mechanical engineering specializing in numerical simulation from the University of Siegen, Germany.

He is currently working on a PhD in the area of “Optimal Design of TRB Applications” at the University of Wuppertal.
