Retractable and Wall Soot Blowers operate in a difficult lubrication environment with a broad range of temperatures (-40 C to 300 C) which significantly reduces bearing and seal life. Use of traditional lubricants have resulted in carriage failure, increased rebuild and maintenance costs as well as comprised safety and productivity. To help prevent seal, bearing, gear failures and prevent corrosion, high performance perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) have proven to extend operating life. PFPEs greases can tolerate the temperature extremes of this tough application which includes steam and moisture affecting bearings, seals and gearboxes. Flammability and reactivity with chemicals and seal materials are also important. A case study about how PFPE greases solved this difficult problem is presented and analyzed.
In this webinar you will learn how high performance PFPE lubricants can:
- Extend bearing and seal life
- Reduce failure-related downtime and maintenance
- Eliminate reactivity and flammability related safety issues
- Lower gearbox friction and operating temperatures
- Increase productivity
