Webinar: 3DMP Additive Manufacturing Technology: What It Is and Why It Should Be Adopted

The world of additive manufacturing is rapidly changing. Today, new techniques for building prototype and production parts seem to be appearing every year; and 2018 is no exception.

The world of additive manufacturing is rapidly changing. Today, new techniques for building prototype and production parts seem to be appearing every year; and 2018 is no exception. During this webinar, a new procedure in Additive Manufacturing will be introduced.

Called 3DMP, this new wire- and arc-based additive manufacturing process will be explained in detail with the speaker highlighting the economic efficiency of the procedure used and the possibility to manufacture components additively with up to 50 percent of cost savings. Sharing insights into the variety of processable materials, the integration of functionalities and the exciting combination of different materials will conclude the webinar. A short digression on welding technology referring to the quality of the printed components will be accompanied through microsection, material inspection and radiography results.

About the Speaker:

From 2003-2008, Alexander Riemann worked as a construction mechanic for Bombardier Transportation where he focused on the welding-related production of railway vehicles, followed by the fabrication of bridges at Fr. Holst GmbH & Co. KG until 2009. While studying Automotive Engineering in Dresden, he also worked for BMW Group as an intern in the prototyping department. This experience was followed by another internship at Bombardier Transportation Australia in 2014, where his main tasks were the Continuous Improvement department and the optimization of the production/final vehicle assembly of railway vehicles. Also, quality assurance and establishing an in-plant welding school to qualify personnel acc. to ISO Standards have been part of his job. Since 2015, Alexander has worked for GEFERTEC GmbH. He started in the field of process development and is now working as the head of the 3DMP Application Center.

PDH Certificates will not be provided for the recorded webinar.
