How to Identify the Right Applications for SLS Printing

In this webinar, Peter Deppe, CEO and Co-founder of KUHMUTE, shares his insights on using SLS to produce charging stations for e-scooters, ebikes, skateboards, and autonomous delivery robots.

The recent advent of affordable industrial-quality SLS 3D printers may be making additive manufacturing a viable choice for end-use production and mass customization.

In this webinar, Peter Deppe, CEO and Co-founder of KUHMUTE, shares his insights on using SLS to produce charging stations for e-scooters, ebikes, skateboards, and autonomous delivery robots.

In addition, Chris Haid, Hardware Product Manager at Formlabs, explains:

  • The main advantages of the SLS 3D printing process over other processes like SLA and FDM for both functional prototyping and end-use production
  • Example applications and use-cases for SLS-printed end-use parts
  • An overview of the SLS 3D printing workflow and available materials

About the Speakers:

Chris Haid – SLS Hardware Product Manager, Formlabs. Chris has spent the last 8 years in the 3D printing industry developing 3D printing solutions for users ranging from elementary school students to industrial manufacturers. Prior to his work in the 3D printing industry, Chris studied mechanical engineering at MIT. Chris now guides the development of Formlabs’ SLS products to better serve customer needs through continuous improvement and delivery of new products.

Peter Deppe – Co-founder and CEO, Kuhmute. From supporting rights for student-athletes vs the NCAA, to challenging the status quo within Urban Mobility in a land built for cars, Peters’ goal is to change the world for the better in his own unique ways. He’s a Kettering University graduate who founded KUHMUTE together with fellow KU grad Scott Spitler in 2018 during the early rise of Micromobility. This was mostly due to the new form of dockless escooters that roamed the world, and caused havoc for cities. Together, Peter and Scott, understood there should be an EV charging network experience, but agnostic to any form factor smaller than a car — for both shared and owned.

KUHMUTE is a world-class locking & charging manufacturer based in Flint, MI USA that supports mobility services all over North America, fulfilling the need as the only Universal Charging Network for Micromobility.
