Engineering.com Salary Survey

The 2025 Engineering Salary Survey was conducted by the editors of Engineering.com, along with many of its sister publications, including Design World, EE World, Fluid Power World, The Robot Report, Medical Design & Outsourcing, and R&D World. This is the first time that these publications have conducted this type of broad salary survey. The results provide a fascinating view of current compensation trends in the engineering field across the United States and Canada. With data collected from engineers across various sectors, the survey offers valuable insights into employment status, job roles, and salary ranges. Here, we will analyze the results to highlight key trends and statistics to our engineering audience.

Out of nearly 1,100 responses to the survey, which was conducted in late 2024, the raw data was trimmed to filter out bots and remove all responses from individuals who indicated that they do not perform engineering or engineer- related work. This left us with respondents who indicated they are engineers with full-time, permanent employment status. These 591 responses provide a margin of error of ±4.03% at a 95% confidence level. These will be the responses discussed throughout the rest of this report.
