Renishaw, a global company with core skills in measurement, motion control, spectroscopy and precision machining, also happens to offer additive manufacturing technologies, although the additive technologies are available primarily in Europe. These technologies encompass Selective laser melting, Vacuum casting and Injection moulding technologies.

The SLM250 Selective Laser Melting (SLM) system can produce fully dense metal parts direct from 3D CAD using a high-powered fiber laser. Parts are built from a range of fine metal powders that are melted in a tightly controlled atmosphere, in layer thicknesses ranging from 20 to 100 microns.

This equipment will be shown during Autosport 2012.
