Connecting sales, product design and marketing with the experience of other industries.
Last week, Dassault Systèmes announced the release of the 2014x version of their 3DEXPERIENCE platform’s on-premise and cloud portfolios.
The release will be available on February 24th. The on-premise portfolio will include 41 Industry Solution Experiences and 183 processes. There will also be a cloud portfolio complete with 14 Industry Solution Experiences and over 60 processes. These experiences are gathered from 12 industries spanning finance to aerospace.
The strength of the 3DEXPERIENCE system is its ability to connect various teams using its cloud-based collaboration-centric mechanics. Various Dassault Systèmes software can be used in the system allowing companies like SHoP Construction and SHoP Architects to produce complicated CATiA geometries while managing projects in the 3DEXPERIENCE dashboard.
Jonathan Mallie, Principal of SHoP Architects and SHoP Construction said, “It took us 20 minutes to get up and running on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform … It is a fun environment to operate in. It is very intuitive. All of the modelling is on line, on the Cloud and available to the factory floor immediately.”
Mike Buchli, Engineering Manager at Karl W. Schmidt & Associates said that, “with SOLIDWORKS Mechanical Conceptual 2014x on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we were able to do four process revisions by the time our competitors were only doing their secondary revision … The key reason for that is the collaborative aspect of Mechanical Conceptual, which permitted our customers to log in, see real time updates of the process and share ideas with us through the blog.”
This release seems like a great way for industries to share information and learn from one another.
