Rapidus partners with Siemens for 2nm semiconductor design

Rapidus and Siemens will co-develop a Calibre-based process design kit.

Rapidus Corporation, a manufacturer of logic semiconductors, has announced a collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software to support design and manufacturing processes for 2nm technology. As part of the partnership, the companies will co-develop a process design kit using Siemens’ Calibre platform to support physical verification, manufacturing process optimization, and reliability analysis from design to fabrication. The collaboration also aims to strengthen Rapidus’ broader design and verification ecosystem.

This collaboration aims to support the manufacturing for design (MFD) approach promoted by Rapidus to improve yield and reduce turnaround time early in the manufacturing process. Rapidus and Siemens EDA will also develop a reference flow that integrates design, verification, and manufacturing processes from front-end to back-end. The reference flow is intended to provide an efficient development environment for Rapidus’ Rapid and Unified Manufacturing Service.

Rapidus is creating a new approach that integrates the entire foundry process from design to manufacturing. With the secure management of design data, ensuring manufacturing traceability and reducing information leakage risks through collaboration with EDA providers, Rapidus will strengthen its supply chain reliability.

Rapidus Corporation is focused on developing and manufacturing advanced logic semiconductors. The company works with customers to support the creation of new industries by providing services that help reduce cycle times in areas such as design, wafer processing, and 3D packaging.
