RAPID+TCT 2023: Velo3D Shows an Advanced Supersonic Ramjet

Applications development engineer Jay Blake describes the advanced 3d printed jet engine.

Ramjets have always been the simplest form of jet propulsion, with no moving parts. Increasing speed to the near hypersonic regime, however, presents multiple challenges in ramjet design, from cooling to flame holding. Jay Blake has designed a very sophisticated demonstrator 3d printed engine that may pave the way to low cost high supersonic propulsion.
