Adobe unveiled 3D printing capabilities in its Photoshop CC in January 2014. Through a simplified 3D print process, Photoshop CC let users produce print-ready 3D models using familiar Photoshop tools.
Now Adobe has taken the next step with the recent announcement with Stratasys Ltd. The two companies are joining forces to eliminate workflow and product barriers that prevent creative professionals from easily transforming their designs into vibrant and durable color 3D printed models.
This means that if you work in Adobe Photoshop CC, you will now be able to send your Photoshop 3D files to Stratasys Direct Express, a self-service website powered by Stratsys Direct Manufacturing. The website lets you upload files, submit an order, and then receive parts within days. This connection is done directly from the native Photoshop CC environment, which will help streamline workflow with direct quoting, validation and previewing. Stratasys Direct Manufacturing provides manufacturing services that combine the latest additive and conventional manufacturing technologies.
Stratasys is a Gold Sponsor at Adobe MAX 2015. On display at the Stratasys booth will be works of art from world-renowned artists and designers. Three Stratasys users – Jason Lopes from the Hollywood special effects company, Legacy Effects; influential artist Nick Ervinck; and Shajay Booshan, head of computation and design at leading architecture and design firm, Zaha Hadid Architects – will present their applications of Stratasys color 3D printing at the event.
Attendees may also get a chance for a sneak peek at a color 3D printing design software being created by Stratasys and Adobe.
Said Adil Munshi, VP and General manager Print and Publishing BU, Adobe. “Adobe and Stratasys share a common vision: to provide our users with the ultimate color 3D printing experience and enable them to create amazing things no one ever dreamed of before. We are excited to be working together with Stratasys to help users unleash the full potential of color 3D printing.”
