The Pressy Kickstarter allows users to quickly perform their favorite functions
The sequence of waking your screen, unlocking it, exiting the current app, searching for the desired app, launching it and performing the desired action takes more than eight seconds. It requires at least five different actions and your attention focused on the screen. The Pressy Kickstarter allows you to do all this with one click of a button.
Pressy is a button that plugs into your headphone jack and sends signals to an intuitive app. The app reads the number of button pushes and duration (short or long) to perform your desired action.

Out of the box the button will perform three actions – toggling the flashing on or off, auto-snapping a photo, or toggling the phone in and out of silent mode. The button can also be used to send your gps location, check in to social networks or answer a phone call. The app allows you to create your own button sequence to perform any desired action.
Programmers and app developers can use Pressy’s application programming interface to launch a new app with specialized settings or bring push-button functionality into the app itself.

Some levels of the Kickstarter rewards also include a keychain fob that will encase the Pressy when the user wants to use the headphone jack for headphones.
As an iPhone user the limitations of an Android only device are obvious, but halfway through the funding period there are more than twenty thousand backers ready for this idea to become a reality.
